Perryhill Orchards’ own Butcher arrives in Hartfield.

Our new butcher Lee will be opened his doors to the public on the 1st of August 2014. He will be offering locally sourced meat and game at affordable prices.
He will have an array of BBQ packs for this lovely summer we have been having and hope continues long into September & October.
In addition if you spend over £25 with Lee you will get a voucher for a FREE “cooked breakfast” and if you spend over £35 you will receive a voucher for a FREE “cream tea for 2”.

This weekend was a fantastic event and the sun shone throughout the weekend.

There were further stalls over the road at Perryhill Nursery.

Peter Bayless, winner of Masterchef, joined us with 3 x 1 hour long cookery demonstrations each day at 11.30am, 1.30pm & 3.30pm.

As mentioned above, we will have a Hog Roast from Hot Trotters going over the whole weekend and a woodfired pizza van “Pizza Cucina” here from 11am – 3pm on the Sunday. I had to go and try a pizza before committing, they are amazing!!

Farm shop, fireplace centre & tea room were open as usual.

Meridian Radio joined us livening up the place and we held a charity collection for Hospice in the Weald.

Food Experience Evenings with Peter Bayless

We hosted 3 food experience evenings with BBC Masterchef winner Peter Bayless in November and December 2013 and Feb 14: the British Game Evening, Alternative Christmas Dinner and Italian Evening. They were a huge success and thoroughly enjoyed by staff and diners alike. We are now looking forward to the new ones that we will be hosting every month from now onwards.
March’s seafood extravaganza has already sold out so be sure to book tickets for the others as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

This event was a huge success!
9.30am – 5pm Saturday & Sunday.
Building on the success of the Ashdown Forest Tourism Association (AFTA)’s previous 2 food festivals we are please to announce that the 2013 Ashdown Forest Food & Plant Festival will be held on Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th June at Perryhill Orchards and Perryhill Nursery. We have a wide variety of stalls on both days, offering free tasting on beers, breads, jams & chutneys, chocolate, pies, ice cream, wines etc. We will also be introducing some exciting new products.
Peter Bayless, winner of BBC’s Masterchef 2006, will be joing us on both days doing 3 cookery demonstrations. He will also have his book for sale at a special price this weekend.
There will be a plant exhibition & demonstrations being hosted at Perryhill Nurseries opposite us.
Nick the Butcher will be running a BBQ all weekend too.
We will also be holding a collection for “Hospice in the Weald”.
Free Entrance.

Sausage & Cider Fest Sat 8th & Sunday 9th September 2012

FREE TASTINGS were available on all our draught ciders and selected bottles.
Lyme Bay Winery joined us to launch their new draught ciders on Sunday 9th September from 11.30am – 3.30pm.

It was the Ideal opportunity to come and try some of the varieties that you have not yet sunk your teeth into!
This event was a huge success and we would like to thank the number of people who attented and look forward to the next one.

Lady Farmers Calendar 2011

In a moment of madness back in the spring, two of us agreed to model for the Lady Farmers Calendar 2011 to help raise awareness of the British farming industry.
We also managed to persuade a couple of male farming friends to bare all for the Farmers Calendar too! The barrels outside the fireplace centre will never seem the same again!
The end results of this chilly morning are now on sale in the farmshop at £5-99.

“Explore Ashdown Forest This Summer” 1st – 16th August ’09

Various events will be being held at Perryhill Orchard during august, all free of charge. The events include:

Sunday 2nd August: Fruit wine tasting with the rep from Lyme Bay Winery!
Sat 8th August: Renewable fuels & wood burning stove information day, being held in the Fireplace Trade Centre showroom.
Sat 8th & Sun 9th August: Cider & apple juice tasting.
Sat 15th August: Strawberries & cream day.
Sat 15th & Sun 16th Aug: Sport around the Ashdown Forest. Details at the Tourist Information Point.

Autumn Food Festival October 2009

Perryhill Autumn Food Festival Week.
Throughout the week, we will be offering free tasting days including:

  • Great British Wine tasting: This small event will offer you the chance to taste a variety of local English table & fruit wines in the informal surroundings of the farm shop.
  • Great British cider & beer tasting: You can taste locally produced ciders direct form the barrel, or, if you prefer, beers from our award winning local brewers. For the children we have a number of non-alcoholic apple juices to taste.
  • Great local food tasting: Each day will be different with a wide choice of local cheeses, jams, chutneys, sausages and speciality breads baked by our local master baker. Join in the fun at this informal event.
  • Great local sweets and ices: Everybody enjoys the last course – sweets and ice creams. So come along to enjoy some free samples in our farm shop of local ice creams, cakes and puddings, and we may be able to find some special sweets for well behaved children (and adults!!) as well.
